Early Years

First Steps Day Nursery & Pre-School provides a fun, loving and stimulating place for children to spend time in. There are 4 separate rooms - the Buttercups Room for babies up to 24 months, the Daisies Room for toddlers from 2 to 3 years, and 2 rooms which are both called Poppies that make up our Pre-School Learning Centre for children aged from 3 to 5 years. The Pre-School Learning Centre is a dedicated area where children are introduced to a more structured routine and activities, all designed to prepare them for school readiness.

Warm Welcome

We greet all the children as they arrive at the nursery and when they get to their rooms there will be a familiar, friendly face waiting to welcome them. Each child will have their own personal peg to hang their belongings on and a Key Person who will get to know them very well. We pride ourselves on providing a warm, loving and homely environment, and at the same time making sure that the rooms are inviting and exciting for the children to explore.

Staff

The nursery is run by a supernumerary Manager, Olwen Owen, and her Deputy, Susan Vickers. Each room has its own Supervisor who, together with her team of practitioners, ensure that the environment and opportunities for learning is always fun-filled and stimulating for your child. They will also keep you informed about your child's progress and development.

Outside

Outside there is a large garden that has been designed to reflect the areas we have in the rooms, and to provide the children with a range of exciting opportunities to explore and learn in a larger scale. In addition, we have dedicated outdoor areas for babies and toddlers providing them with equipment and activities specific to their age groups. Our outdoor provisions allow the children to play and explore with more freedom and space, encouraged and supported by our enthusiastic practitioners.

We are very proud of our nursery and we invite you and your child to come and see what we have to offer. To arrange a visit please call us on 01526 832518 or email us at ruskington@headstartnurseries.co.uk. Your visit will be a good introduction for you and your child to our facilities and our homely and nurturing environment.
